Build the Bookshelf!
We created this Baby Shower/ sticker invitation for a recent mama-to-be and just had to share this fabulous creative idea!
The hostesses asked each guest to bring a special book for the baby’s nursery, thus “Building the bookshelf”. We’ve also heard it called “Stock the Bookshelf” as a theme name, which is super cute. Each invitation comes with an index card sized sticker - so that the gift-giver can write a special note to the baby!
We did something like this (but not quite as creative!) for my son when he was born. We printed bookplates for him with his name, and then I wrote who gave the book or when I got it. It’s been a lot of fun looking back (now that he is 12) on these books and how “old” they are! It’s also fun when passing down a nursery library to a little sibling to remember who gave each book. Some people we don’t see as much now, and some people have become like parts of the children’s family.
It’s really a wonderful gift in the digital age we live in to give a good old fashioned book AND to make a memory at the same time.
We offer coordinating sets of stickers and invitations. These are some of my favorite combos!
What a fun way to welcome your new little one! Personalize here!
