Believing great style should fit any budget, Kate’s lines of stationery encompass a wide selection of printing methods. Her Pickett’s Press letterpress and engraving collection is the highest end of artistic hand printing; while the Pickett’s Printables line is a digitally printed collection of cards and invitations, available personalized online at an everyday price point.
Kate’s background in art and design, work experience in letterpress and custom printing, and upbringing on the Upper East side of New York City in a family with deep roots in American tradition (her ancestors fought in the revolutionary war, she was a twice debutante and is a member of the Colonial Dames) give her unique insight into both traditional etiquette and artistic style. Putting herself through Harvard College and Harvard Business School gave her an understanding that good taste should fit any budget, and that style is not limited to affluence.

Meet Kate, the founder of Pickett's Press, a luxury stationery brand located on the Upper East Side of Manhattan.

As a working mother of three young children, Kate understands that there are appropriate times for exquisite engraving, and times for digital printing, and even e-mailed invitations. At all times, she loves the artistry of the product and the American elegance of traditional simplicity and design. Every design produced from the Pickett’s Press atelier is hand drawn in our studio, regardless of printing method. Kate Pickett is the ideal modern woman to take on the challenge of keeping alive the traditional processes of printing which she loves, by making bespoke stationery and weddings accessible to anyone.

Kate Pickett, President and Founder of Pickett’s Press, LLC, is a native New Yorker who graduated from Harvard College with a BA in Art History in 1997 and from Harvard Business School in 2003. After working in Merchant Banking and Mergers and Acquisitions, Kate gained her retail experience as a stationery buyer at Kate’s Paperie, before launching Pickett’s Press. Kate’s interest in social entrepreneurship is long-standing - she founded the Children’s Art League of New York with her childhood art teacher in 1997, and served as Director of the Board until 2011. Additionally, she serves as a friend of Baby Buggy, is a member of the Associates Committee the Society of Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and works on the Pediatric Support Committee of New York Hospital. Kate’s biggest job is raising her three children - a 9-year-old boy and 7-year-old twins.
