1. Merry Manhattan

Ingredients
2 oz bourbon
1 oz dry vermouth
2 drops angostura bitters
1/2 oz spiced simple syrup

Spiced simple syrup
1 cup sugar
1 cup water
2 " piece ginger peeled and sliced
2 cinnamon sticks
2 star anise
4 cardamom pods lightly crushed with the side of a knife

    Instructions

    1. Combine all cocktail ingredients in a shaker with a handful of ice; shake vigorously until the outside of the shaker is frosty. Pour into short (Old Fashioned) glass.

    To make simple syrup:

    1. Combine sugar and water in a medium saucepan over medium-high heat; cook until sugar dissolves. Remove from heat and add remaining ingredients. Allow spices to steep for at least an hour. Strain into a glass jar; cover and store leftover syrup in the fridge.
    2. Serve and enjoy!

    2. Blackberry Ombre Sparkler

    Ingredients
    1 cup fresh blackberries
    1 cup sugar
    1 cup water
    4 sprigs fresh rosemary
    1 bottle champagne

    Instructions

    1. In a small saucepan, combine blackberries, sugar, and water. Bring to a boil on high heat, and then reduce to a simmer and let cook for approximately 15-17 minutes. The blackberries will become soft and bright in color and a pinkish purple syrup will form. Making sure it cooks down enough is essential to keeping the ombre effect. Take off of the heat and drain the blackberries, keeping the syrup in a separate bowl. Set both aside and allow to cool.
    2. Once blackberries and simple syrup are cooled, spoon about 4 tablespoons of syrup into the bottom of each champagne flute (this recipe makes 4 drinks)
    3. Top with champagne.
    4. Garnish with fresh blackberries or the cooked blackberries, and a sprig of rosemary.
    5. Cheers!

    10. Hot Buttered Hazelnut Whiskey

    Ingredients
    4 parts milk
    1 cinnamon stick
    2 parts whiskey
    1 part Frangelico

    Instructions

    1. Bring the milk and cinnamon stick to a simmer in a thick-bottomed pot over low heat.
    2. Allow to gently simmer for 15 minutes, stirring constantly (if you don’t stir constantly, the milk on the bottom of the pan will start to cook onto it, and the next time you stir the pot little cooked milk bits will mix into the liquid. Not so fun.)
    3. Remove from heat, remove the cinnamon stick, and pour the milk into the serving glass.
    4. Add the whiskey and the Frangelico and stir to combine.
    5. Top with whipped cream and a sprinkle of cinnamon.
